Strengthening a Community Space

The Kelseyville Event Center renovation and expansion reflects our practical approach to structural engineering for community-focused facilities. Located in Kelseyville, CA, the project included a remodel of the existing CMU building along with a 436 SF ground-up addition. Our work emphasized efficient design that supported the client’s goals and project constraints.

Much of the effort centered on assessing existing conditions, addressing areas of deterioration, and implementing structural repairs that restored performance without unnecessary cost. We carried this budget-focused mindset into the design of the new foundations and framing, detailing transitions between existing and new construction to reduce complexity and streamline the build.

Because the facility will also act as a disaster relief center, the structural strategy prioritized reliability and resilience. By combining practical repair solutions, efficient new construction detailing, and clear coordination with the broader project team, the design supports both day-to-day community use and emergency response needs for the region.
